Evelyn Poole had used oils as her favorite medium for many years, but since moving to Florida has turned to using mostly acrylics because they work best for her needs of expression, on the canvas and her traveling. Evelyn enjoys painting landscapes and seascapes but also does abstract designs, mixed media and collages. She had earned a BA degree from Hunter College in New York City, and an MA degree from Columbia University, Teachers College in New York City. She taught in New York City high schools for many years. Here in our area, she had worked as a docent at the International Museum, downtown St. Petersburg. In Greece, she has served as a judge for art exhibits there. Her work can be found at the St. Petersburg Beach City Hall and in private collections in the U.S. and in Greece.
