Born, raised and educated in Rome, Mirella Cimato—now a resident of St. Petersburg Florida—started to travel abroad as soon as she completed her classical studies, obtaining the “Maturita’ Classica” diploma in Rome. She visited and lived in various European countries and in Australia. In Australia she admired the clear and vivid colors of nature. These colors are reflected in her paintings together with the multifaceted entirety of her experiences and her classical education. In the USA she obtained a BA from the University of Akron and pursued artistic studies in San Francisco, California, various work shops in Kanuga, North Carolina, and with painting tours in Europe, mainly Italy.
Mirella exhibits in various galleries and art centers, including the St. Petersburg Art Center, The Mahaffey Theater and Ruth Eckerd Hall.
There is an ethereal quality in her paintings. She has received several awards. Mirella paints in oil, acrylic, water color and pastel. her preference goes to oil and acrylic.
Her works are collected internationally and in corporate collections.
